Inclusive Excellence within Nursing and Across Our Communities

The School of Nursing is committed to advancing fairness and belonging by strengthening inclusive education, expanding community engagement, and implementing strategies that promote excellence in the nursing profession and the communities we serve.

The School of Nursing is committed to fostering an environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. The Office of Community and Campus Engagement and the committee’s efforts focus on enhancing educational programming that promotes cultural humility and understanding.

As liaisons to broader university efforts and committee members, faculty and staff help reinforce a school-wide commitment to a sense of belonging and student success by:

  • Evaluating the School of Nursing Inclusive Excellence plan annually
  • Recommending resources and services to ensure that all faculty, staff and students’ voices are heard and valued in the academic environment
  • Reviewing and advising the administration on student population persistence and retention data
  • Creating and enhancing intentional spaces, programs, and services to foster an accessible campus for all
