The School of Nursing offers robust resources to support faculty and student research grant funding through its Office of Nursing Research (ONR). The ONR provides comprehensive assistance throughout the grant lifecycle, from identifying funding sources and developing proposals to managing budgets and submitting required documentation. Faculty are supported in award administration, including monthly expenditure reviews and progress report submissions to ensure compliance with funding terms. Graduate research assistants are available to assist on awarded grants. The ONR also supports internal grant submissions to UofL. Faculty have secured funding from prestigious sources including the NIH, NSF, HRSA and private foundations, with projects spanning topics such as adolescent mental health, maternal care, and chronic disease management.

The School of Nursing also benefits from partnerships with the University’s Office of Research and Innovation, providing access to external funding databases that help researchers discover and secure funding opportunities more efficiently.

Pivot-RP is a database of research funding opportunities. It uses AI-powered matching to connect researchers with relevant grants based on their profiles, publications, and research interests. Users can perform advanced searches, and receive email alerts.

Dimensions complements Pivot by offering deep analytics on funding trends, and scholarly impact. It integrates data from publications, grants, patents, and clinical trials, allowing users to analyze who is funding what, where, and how research is evolving globally.

When used together, Pivot helps identify current funding opportunities, while Dimensions provides strategic insights into funder behavior. These tools work together to empower researchers to target proposals more effectively and align with funder priorities.
