MSN in Leadership
The MSN-Leadership is designed for baccalaureate-prepared nurses who wish to develop expertise as a nurse leader. The program offers two tracks: nursing practice and nursing education. Both tracks provide students with educational experiences to prepare graduates to assume leadership roles in healthcare administration and academia. Graduates will be prepared to apply knowledge and skills in the provision of quality in advanced nursing careers while collaborating with other disciplines to improve the delivery of healthcare.
Track Options
The MSN-Leadership in Nursing Education prepares nurses to expand their career options with a focus on nursing education. Graduates are prepared to assume education positions within academic or healthcare institutions.
The nursing education track provides students a foundation in curriculum development, courses design, and program evaluation. Graduates are prepared to utilize evidence-based approaches and frameworks to develop educational programs, implement and evaluate educational programs, and support quality assessment and improvement initiatives and processes.

*The 84 hours of clinical practicum is an in-person experience but can be completed in your home community. This requirement cannot be completed online.
The MSN-Leadership in Nursing Practice prepares nurses to expand their career options with a focus on leadership roles at the systems level. Graduates are prepared to assume healthcare leadership positions across the health care continuum, including management positions such in quality improvement, staff/patient education, risk management, research, administration, and strategic planning.
The nursing practice track provides students with strong foundations in strategic management, health care system policy development, outcomes and evidence-base driven practice, financial planning, operations, and creating positive work environments.
