About the Second-Degree Accelerated BSN Program

The Second-Degree BSN program is a hybrid accelerated program that prepares students with a bachelor's degree in any area outside of nursing to become entry-level professional nurses. This program has two locations: Louisville, Kentucky and Owensboro, Kentucky. As citizens of a larger community, we focus on addressing the complex healthcare needs of diverse and dynamic populations through nursing education, research, scholarship, and service. Benefits of the program include:

  • 15 months to graduate
  • Lectures offered online
  • Clinical experiences starting first semester
  • Over 500 clinical hours in diverse clinical settings.
  • Utilization of high-fidelity simulation labs

Our students graduate prepared to demonstrate excellence in nursing science, practice, and leadership in a variety of settings for the benefit of clients across the lifespan and to meet the evolving healthcare needs of society. Our BSN program also provides the foundation for master and doctoral degrees in nursing.
