This committee is in charge of reviewing applications for internal research awards from the Ruth Craddock Fund, and faculty travel awards. The committee also coordinates research presentations throughout the year including the Seminar Series, and the SoN's presence at Research!Louisville.
All faculty are eligible to apply. There is one undergraduate and one graduate student seat on the committee. This is a great opportunity for students to put on their CV or Resume. If you are interested in joining the committee, please fill out the application.
Faculty Travel Requests
All full-time faculty are eligible to apply for travel funds for a maximum amount of $1,250 each academic year.
- Faculty must be full-time or part-time.
- Part-time employees are eligible to request half the amount of full-time faculty.
- Applications must be submitted at least 15 business days before travel is set to occur.
- State guidelines for transportation, lodging and per diem expense reimbursement must be used for travel within the U.S. University guidelines for reimbursement of international travel will be used.
- Faculty must use grant funds or apply for University of Louisville Faculty Professional Development Small Grant Funds first, if available.
- Expenses already covered in full by another source are not covered.
- Funding is only awarded for the presentation of scholarly work at professional meetings or conferences.
- Amount requested shall not exceed actual expenditures or the amount of the initial request.
- Applicants must fill out a Faculty Travel Request Form.
- The request must be approved and signed by the faculty member’s supervisor.
- Once it is signed, applicants must submit their form to the committee by clicking the button at the bottom of the form and uploading the form.
- The application will subsequently be reviewed by the Research & Scholarship Committee within 10 business days.
- Travel Request votes will be taken via email with an attached poll to the Research & Scholarship Committee Outlook group (Nursing-RS-Cmte@cardmail.louisville.edu).
- Travel Requests will be signed by the Associate Dean, PI, or Approving Authority. Travel is not authorized until it is signed by one of these parties.
