Graduate Nursing Student Kayla Stinson Selected as Paul Ambrose Scholar

April 22, 2011 - Kayla Stinson, a graduate student in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and the School of Nursing is one of a few selected nationwide for the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program. Stinson was recently selected for this competitive program. She is one of 45 students that will attend a three-day leadership symposium in Washington, DC. June 23-26, 2011. She will conduct a health promotion project this summer in Louisville educating senior citizens about hypertension and how they can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease through proper nutrition, exercise, and smoking cessation.

The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program introduces health professions students to influential public health professionals and prepares them to be leaders in addressing public health challenges.
