UofL School of Nursing now offering APRN Master of Science in Nursing program

October 8, 2024

The University of Louisville School of Nursing has relaunched the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with five advanced practice specialties.

The MSN program provides baccalaureate prepared registered nurses with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to sit for board certification in several specialties, including Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The program is delivered in a hybrid format with courses taught with blended on-campus and online instruction.

The program admits twice a year with a fall and spring start option. Application for the fall 2022 term is now open. More information about the MSN program, including how to apply can be found online.

“Bringing back the MSN program gives students options for their path to becoming a nurse practitioner.  If they choose the MSN or DNP program, they will be well prepared for their new role as a nurse practitioner,” said Dr. Sara Robertson, Assistant Dean of DNP and APRN programs.

The bachelor of science in nursing, master of science in nursing, and doctor of nursing practice programs at University of Louisville are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
