Spring 2017 Nursing Transition Ceremony welcomes new upper division students
January 17, 2017University of Louisville nursing students celebrated their symbolic entry into the profession at the spring 2017 Transition Ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 15, at HSC Auditorium.
Similar to a White Coat Ceremony for the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine, the ritual signifies the advancement of future nurses from the classroom to clinical rotation learning during the final four semesters of the undergraduate program. Students recited the School of Nursing Honor Code Pledge and received a pin to wear on their scrubs that serves as a reminder of their commitment to provide high quality care.
Ninety students are entering the upper division of the program this semester.
