PhD alumna receives national nursing association research award

University of Louisville School of Nursing Ph.D. alumna Irene Yang received the Novice Researcher Award this week at the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses' national convention in Grapevine, Texas.

Yang, a postdoctoral fellow in biobehavioral research at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, was awarded $5,000 for her study “The Oral Microbiome and Preterm Birth in Low SES African American Pregnant Women.”
